Captus is an independent Swedish free-market think-tank that promotes the ideas of liberty such as free enterprise, low taxes and individual liberty. Since Captus was founded in 2005, the think-tanks regularly publish articles mainly in Swedish but also in international media such as: The Guardian, Human Events, The Wall Street Journal, FrontPage Magazine and The American Enterprise.
Captus publishes reports on issues ranging from labour market regulations to integration policy, from waste and environmental management to Iranian energy subsidies. Captus arranges frequent seminars where issues of relevance to public policy are discussed. We also work to encourage the next generation of free-market columnists and authors to develop their talents by holding essay competitions.
Captus has extensive contacts with decision makers both in Sweden and in Brussels. We also co-operate with New Direction – The Foundation for European Reform. New Direction is a free market think tank established in Brussels and the UK, which maintains a strong network with like-minded think-tanks.
